United Bankshares Declares Third Quarter DividendUnited Bankshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: UBSI) declared a third quarter dividend of 21¢ per share for shareholders of record as of September 8, 2000. Dividends per share of 63¢ for the first three quarters of 2000 represents a 3% increase over the 61¢ per share paid for the first three quarters of 1999.
The dividend payout of approximately $8.8 million on 41.8 million shares is payable October 2, 2000. The year 2000 will be the 27th consecutive year of dividend increases to United shareholders. The annualized 2000 dividend of 84¢ equates to a yield of approximately 4.2% based on recent UBSI market prices.
